Songs
The theme for the monthly in-home small group dinners in February was "Songs". The individual groups chose to interpret this in a variety of ways. Some used a single song as a basis for their menu, some incorporated the name of a musician and others used different songs for each course.

Sandra & Phil's house
This group had a delicious dinner. They began with Muffaletta appetizers and Puff Pastry Straws rolled in cheesy herbs while they listened to "The Muffaletta Song" and "Scarborough Fair". Next up on the playlist was "Strawberry Fields Forever" by the Beatles accompanying the lovely strawberry spinach salad. A jazzy rendition of "File Gumbo" was played to accompany the main course gumbo and corn muffins. The flan and berry dessert was accompanied by Fats Dominoe's "Blueberry Hill" and the Beastie Boys' "Egg Man".

Frieda & Pitt's house
This group used “Jambalaya on the Bayou” by Hank Williams for their inspiration, resulting in a menu with a definite Cajun vibe. Food included Cajun Sausage Stuffed Boudin for an appetizer, cold asparagus salad, Shrimp Etouffée /w rice, corn bread w/ honey butter and pecan pie and custard pie for dessert. Chocolate martini's out by the fire concluded the dinner. Lots of fun was had by all!
