The theme in February was "Southern Cooking". Various menus were planned for each of the "in-home" meals.

Muriel & Bob's house
This group planned a traditional Southern USA menu, with a twist for the appetizers. The appetizers were all shrimp based, but included items not only from Louisiana (Cajun shrimp), but also from SOUTHERN California (shrimp medallions w/avocado & cucumber) and SOUTHERN Vietnam (spring rolls)!

This group feasted on a typical Southern dinner including fried chicken, black-eyed peas, fruit ambrosia and Mississippi Mud Pie.

Another tasty meal was enjoyed by these folks. Their Southern menu included: Deviled eggs, pimento cheese and crackers, ham, sweet potatoes, coleslaw, potato salad, corn bread, and pecan pie. (click on photos to see full view)

This convivial group enjoyed shrimp & grits, a delicious salad and pecan pie with homemade ice cream.

This group of eight had a leisurely dinner featuring several Southern favorites. Appetizers were deviled eggs w/bacon and pimento cheese w/crackers. The next course was a tasty salad with cornbread. The main entrée was Creole shrimp w/rice and we finished off with a Hummingbird cake. At the end of the meal Charlene & Amos announced that they were celebrating their 52nd wedding anniversary that day. They then brought out some special glasses and a very special pear liqueur to share with us as we toasted them.
